Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, ask us on Telegram.
01Is Legacy Trade free?
There is currently no Legacy Trade subscription fee or in-app payment. Trading costs (spreads, commissions and swaps) are charged by your broker under its own terms.
02Which brokers are supported?
MT5 accounts at ZeroMarkets and Orbis Securities, both live and demo. The add-account screen in the app shows the servers you can link right now.
03Do I need to install an EA or rent a VPS?
No. The engine runs on our cloud servers and connects to your broker's MT5 server. Nothing is installed on your computer.
04Does it keep trading when my PC or phone is off?
Yes. Trading runs in the cloud, so it continues when your devices are off or the app is closed.
05How is my MT5 password handled?
You enter your MT5 trading password once when you link an account. Because the cloud engine has to log in to your broker without your device, the password is kept on our servers in a recoverable form. It is not shown in the member app, but service administrators can see it to approve links and handle incidents, and depending on how the account is connected it may be passed to the contractor that handles account connections (see the Privacy Policy). When you delete your account it is deleted from our database (information we are legally required to keep follows Section 4 of the Privacy Policy). Use a password you don't use anywhere else, and if you change it at your broker, enter the new one in the app.
06Why does it need my trading password and not the investor password?
An investor (read-only) password can only view an account; it cannot place orders. Automated trading needs the trading password.
07Can I stop at any time?
Yes. Turning a bot off stops new entries, and positions it already holds are still managed by the preset's take-profit and stop-loss rules (presets without a stop-loss run until take-profit or a broker stop-out). To exit now, close positions on the Market screen while the market is open. Closing all positions also stops automated trading on that account. You can delete your account at any time once there are no open positions.
08Can I start with a demo account?
Yes, and we recommend it. Demo accounts use virtual money, so profit and loss aren't real. Learn the same screens and bots on demo first, then move to a live account when you're ready.
09Does Legacy Trade hold or withdraw my money?
No. Your funds stay in your account at your broker. Legacy Trade does not hold or withdraw funds; it only places orders on the account you link.
10Can I lose money?
Yes. Leveraged trading in currencies and precious metals can lose your entire deposit, and past results don't guarantee future results. Read the risk disclosure before you start, and only use money you can afford to lose.
11I turned the bot on but it doesn't enter a trade.
Check that the account status is 'Linked', that the starting lot isn't too large for your balance, and whether a protection (market open, news, weekly open) is on. The preset may also be waiting for its entry condition, and there's no trading while the market is closed.
